A.C. Frieden’s globetrotting literary research stems from his quest to understand the complex political, social, cultural, economic, security and technical characteristics of the diverse settings in his novels. His on-location investigative approach includes interviewing government officials, activists, journalists, technical experts, artists and other locals, resulting in stories with authentic scenes, rich characters and realistic plots, while preserving his trademark imaginative flare. Ultimately, he weaves captivating stories with cerebral content and a global theme. His latest novel, Tranquility Denied, takes place in Russia, Sweden, and the U.S., and his prior novel, Canvas Sunsets Never Fade, is set in the U.S., Mexico, Switzerland, France, and Senegal. Since 2007, Frieden has focused his research on Latin America and East Asia for his two upcoming novels.
